“The greatest risk in life is taking no risk.”

Too many people on the planet

Population growth comes from poverty, from lack of education, of clean water,

of healthcare, of safe living conditions and more.

Affordable healthcare widens access to medical services. Better healthcare for all reduces child mortality and communal diseases, educates the population about precautionary measures, and increases public health. At 1000 Days Hospital, we focus on a child’s first 1,000 days. Services include maternal care, child nutrition, sexual health, safe family relations, community building among mothers, courses, and discussion groups. We also serve the wider public with general practices, surgery, and trauma centers.

Traffic mortality is a major cause of death for young people, particularly in developing countries. Efficient ways to reduce this include making certified drivers’ licenses more affordable and increasing the number of female drivers, which in turn empowers women and encourages female mobility, safety, and prosperity.

Access to pure drinking water increases child survival, reduces general mortality, fosters public health, and reduces the incidence of waterborne diarrheal diseases like rotavirus, E. coli, or cholera. As of 2016, diarrhea was estimated to be the fifth leading cause of child death in the world.

Excessive Inequality among People

We do not choose our parents or birthplace, yet these are perhaps life’s most important factors. As a society we may offset the cards that children are dealt through opportunities for education, work, and cultural expression. The main discriminatory factors in the workplace are over nationality, race, gender, and age.

Vocational training is an efficient way to bring young people into the workforce. Among our programs are catering and hospitality, hairdressing and beauty, fashion and design; 70% of those enrolled in them are women. Most of the programs involve three months training and three months placing the graduates in a job. About 50% of graduates get jobs. 2X Education is a non-profit.

Too many resources are required to
achieve and sustain a good life:

The model for Western companies presupposes that the higher the material consumption, the better the life.

Yet, happiness is not a function of GDP. Mental health issues do not disappear with a luxurious lifestyle.

Every person can be the best version of themselves and respected for who they are. The core philosophy of Master WiZR is that we should democratize how we appear virtually and allow every person or company on the earth to shine online. If a two-person start-up in Africa can appear as a top brand in the US, we have achieved our mission. The company is a global employer with staff on four continents.

Public Markets

The world is full of companies that are behind the curve of the effort to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.  We do not oppose the goal of a net zero world with respect to climate gas emissions. We do, however, find it hopelessly unambitious.

The need is for zero emission solutions today or emission sequestering. Not carbon storage that only continues fossil fuel consumption, but efficiency in the use of resources and consumption that embeds natural sequestration in the product cycle.

We´d rather invest in companies that are clearly ahead of the transition curve. Examples are our listed stocks within such sectors as:  Solar, Wind, Bio-Refinery, EV Production, Recycling, Sustainable Real Estate, and Sustainable Finance (GABV)

Philanthropy

We are generally not engaged in philanthropy, but during the pandemic we’ve been venturing into it on special occasions. A brief summary of our impact: in Kenya, we produced a half-million washable face masks locally.

At the peak, we had 60 stations for washing and hand-sanitizing in poor communities. Outreach work to educate people about the personal precautions they can take to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19. About 1.4 million people were reached through 2020 and 2021. All work was done in collaboration with local Acini companies.

2X Empower is a civic engagement to facilitate local democratic discussions.  We host the events, invite aspiring politicians, and engage the public to ask questions. The Know Your Leader campaign started in Kisumu/Kenya prior to the election in 2022.
